Mental Health First Aid
Developed in Australia in 2001 and now internationally recognised in 26 countries, the MHFA course teaches people how to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, provide help on a first aid basis, and effectively guide someone towards the right support services. Mental Health First Aid Courses are all designed and delivered using evidence-based knowledge and skills that will equip you to be a really effective and kind helper, as well as save lives.
In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial early warning signs of mental ill health.
We have several instructors qualified to deliver a whole range of MHFA Courses. We believe that having at least one person in every organisation with Mental Health First Aid skills will be a huge asset to the Mental Health and Wellbeing of workplaces.
MHFA Adult – designed for anyone aged 16+ who wants to learn how to support adults, reduce stigma and discrimination, and learn about good self-care to improve their own wellbeing.
MHFA Youth – Courses for adults (16+) who work with or care for young people aged 8-18. MHFA Youth courses are ideal for anyone in the voluntary and community youth sector, as well as schools, colleges and apprenticeship placements.
