Harlow Children and Young People’s (CYP) Mental Health Support Team
Following on from the government’s green paper Dec 2017 ‘Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision’. We are delighted to let you know that Mind in West Essex is now part of an exciting national ‘Trailblazer’/MHST programme.
Our Children and Young People’s (CYP) Mental Health Support Team will be working with children and young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues. They will be working in schools and colleges providing a combination of individual support and group work.
Delivering a whole school approach with children and young people, parents/caregivers and educational staff. The aims of the programme are to:
- raise awareness and understanding of mental health and to help children, young people and families
- develop resilience to manage life stresses
- to give schools and colleges the tools to be aware of young people’s mental health and
- to be able to provide ‘low level’ support
They work with other agencies to strengthen the links between education, health services and families in Harlow.
