Just a little update now my training is in full swing and the big day is only 2 weeks away!
I always knew this was going to be hard but trying to work, look after my family and train is much harder than I anticipated aside from the fact I am so unfit! I have been doing circuit and weight training to strengthen my body and power walk training to improve my stamina.
I have a wonderful friend, Becky, who is joining me on the journey and keeping me going.
On the plus side, I have come to realise we are surrounded by beautiful countryside and just being out in the fresh air really does lift my mood. It's amazing what you don't see during a normal day.
Today Becky and I clocked up our biggest power walk to date at 8.5 miles in 2 hours and 23 minutes, which is just under 17 minutes per mile. It was hard going and I have a lovely blister to prove it! It is getting easier though so I have faith that I will complete the challenge.
