Schools are often stressful environments these days for students and staff alike. At Mind in West Essex we have been working in secondary schools across our area for the past few years delivering a variety of services.
We have been funded by Uttlesford District Council to provide individual talking therapy to the four secondary schools in Uttlesford, which we are currently doing. We would also like to carry this out across our area if we can receive funding.
Following the requests for emotional support we have received from schools we have developed various packages to cater for students, staff and parents all of which are detailed in this booklet. We believe that in delivering mental health awareness in schools young people will have a greater understanding of their mental health, how to deal better with life’s ups and downs and become more resilient.
Along with the courses we have developed we also deliver a range of Mental Health First Aid courses aimed at supporting staff in their work and understanding young people better. With the knowledge and experience we have accumulated we can design and deliver bespoke services from talking therapy support to educational packages.
