Local mum Jo Johnson shares her open and honest account about her own lived experience of mental health problems and being mum.
With becoming a parent we have expectations of ourselves and of our children. Will they look like me, have the same interests, go on to be successful. Without realising it these expectations have an impact on what we do and how we act.
Parenting, for many reasons can have a huge impact on out mental health. Dynamics have changed, expectations haven't been met, tiredness, oh, the tiredness.
Aside from that, having a mental health problem at any time can be challenging. Jo Johnson, writes an open and honest account of her own experience. She is reducsing stigma and normalising the conversation.

Why is there still a stigma attached to mental health? Why are we much better at talking about physical ailments? These are questions that I think about a great deal and when I read about the Time to Change campaign I knew I wanted to be part of it.
