FREE Art and Reflection
Art and Reflection.
‘Inside/Outside Art’ have come together with Mind in West Essex to
present a pilot project designed to promote personal wellbeing through
creative engagement and reflection.
This project offers local people over the age of 18 the opportunity to
participate in a free, weekly ‘Art and Reflection’ group facilitated by
two creative professionals trained in the field of mental health. No
previous art making experience is required. Beginners through to those
with more experience are all welcome.
Who is this project for?
What are the benefits?
There is growing evidence to show that taking part in creative activity
can have a positive effect on mental health and general wellbeing. It
can increase self-esteem and confidence, reduce feelings of isolation and give those involved a sense of personal achievement.
What will you be doing?
These sessions are an opportunity to enjoy the process of art making
through a guided exploration of the art materials. We aim to help you
learn new skills and meet new people in a friendly and supportive
environment. Each week will focus on a different aspect of art making
and will have a space for participants to reflect on their experience at
the end of each session.
When does is start?
This project starts on 25th January and will run for 6 weeks.
Each session will start at 7.00pm and end at 8.30pm.
Sessions will be held at Uttlesford Community Hub, Great Dunmow.
How do you get involved?
